My Camera and Lens-testing Collection on Flickr

I’ve created a collection on Flickr where I add sets for each camera or lens I test. Welcome to follow it ofcourse, but it would be nice if you link to your Flickr test sets or collections on Flickr. If you give me a link in the comments I will add it in this post :)

Some interesting reading on the film Kodachrome.

A busy weekend with hiking, Yashica and Pentax

This weekend I have been hiking for over 12 hours in steep landscape of Kilsbergen where I live, taking photographs with most of my Yashica and Pentax-gear. A lot of pictures to sort through and aching legs to rest, but then some tests will be posted here :)

My first camera – the Konica EFP-20

My first camera I got when I was 14 years old (if I remember correctly). It was a point and shoot Konica EFP-20 I got from my sister for my birthday (or christmas perhaps). Nice little thing, but now I have no idea if it’s any fun… thinking of giving it a spin. Anyone know about this little camera? :)

80 film cameras for under 50 dollars

Epic Edits You might remember my post on the “$50-dollar film camera project” from Epic Edits? Well, the list is published now and there were 80 cameras reviewed, amongst them my own review of the Yashica J-7.

It was a very inspiring challenge, I will keep doing similar reviews – I’ve already got more cameras to write about and also ideas on expanding the Yashica J-7 review with more photos testing all functions. Today a package arrived, with 5 rolls of Kodak TMax 100 ASA black and white-film ….

Contax commercial on youtube

Found this on Youtube, guess it’s a Contax commercial. Some translation would be nice, from someone who speaks the language :)

Autumnleafs with Yashica DSB 50mm/1.9

Today my new manual lens Yashica DSB 50mm/1.9 arrived. Bought it very cheap on Tradera (swe ebay). It’s single-coated and seems sharper then I would have thought. This is a lens with Contax/Yashica mount. Here’s a photography of leafs on the ground, for more images look at my thread on YashicaForum.com. Review will come soon, maybe in comparison to Yashica ML 50mm/2.

About manual focus lenses in New York Times

I guess many of you read the story about manual focus lenses in New York Times, “Vintage Lenses on Digital Cameras“. It’s nice more people are discovering manual lenses but I guess the prices may go up ;) I’m actually working on an article at the moment for another website, on the same subject.

Find a Film Camera for Under $50
I bought a kit with Yashica J-7 SLR with the lens Yashinon-DX 50mm f1.7 for about $22 on Tradera (swedish version of ebay) :)

Shoot Some Film With Your New Camera!
Well, I’ve shot a blck and white roll and a colour-film roll. Both were Kodak and 400 ASA.

Write a Review of Your Camera, Publish a Photo of Your Camera
By this time I was so excited that I bought the domain www.yashicaforum.com and wrote the review there! :) There are several large photos of the camera in the review, but I guess the first one is most representative:

Colourphotos with Yashica J-7

Today I uploaded some colourphotos taken with the Yashica J-7 on Flickr. Some nice, but a lot of problems with noice and a lightleak (probably due to my poor handling of the camera in bad weather, and shooting the camera in heavy lights inside softbox). The film is some Kodak colour film 400 ASA from the local grocery store ;)
