Some summer closeups from a field

Yesterday I was on a trip to the national park nearby and took images of some plants and flowers. The day before had bad weather and rain, so drops still clinged to the leafs. The photos was created with manual m42-lenses of different brands.

Thunder awaits us

This time of year there are a lot of thunderstorms where I live. Short and not large, but enought to make you turn compters of. Arghh.. annoying. This is made with Asahi Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 55mm/1.8 on an Canon EOS 350D.

Morningsun on forest

This is another picture from yesterday. The sunrise was making the forest on the other side glow. A bit harsh light for photography really, but I liked the contrast and the calm water. Like the prebvious this is also shot with the (Carl Zeiss) aus Jena S* 135mm/3.5 zebra on my Canon EOS 350D.

Black-throated diver

I went on a trip this morning. Some blackthroated divers were swimming in the lake. Took a shot with the aus Jena Sonnar 135mm/3.5 zebra M42-lens. For some reason I had a hard time getting focus this morning, but this is ok I think.

Fixing a Super-Takumar 135mm/3.5 from wobbling hood

I had some problem with the front cover and hood on my Asahi Super-Takumar 135mm/3.5 m42-lens. The front “hull” or what you might call it, wobbled… including the filterthreads and the hood. Didn’t affect the imageproperties of the lens (the glass didn’t move) but annoying to use.

This turned out to be easy…

  1. Unscrew the ring where the lensname is printed. That’s just a ring screwed down in the filterthreads. Take a round object with smaller diameter then the 49mm filterthreads, cover it with a rubberglove or something that’s soft but has friction. Press down and unscrew the name-ring.
  2. The front hull of the lens is atteched with three small screws. Tighten the small screws you see down between the hull and the lenses glass.
  3. Reattach the name-ring. Done!

Here some pictures I took while doing this:

My wife on colourfilm, scanned and converted to black and white. Daydreaming?

This is from the beginning of the millenia. I had very limited technical know-how about cameras and photography. I borrowed my mother in laws camera and lens (unknown SLR from the 70’s). Shot this on colourfilm. Some years later I scanned it. Now I have converted it to black and white in Photoshop.

I kind of like it. I think I did as good as I could with my training as a painter/artist, and if I was lucky I had used the camera right and it turned out good. Quite often though, it turned ut in many other ways ;)

Rug left in nature with Yashica MC Zoom 35-70mm 3.5-4.5

A rug left in nature. I was out in the sunny weather the other day and since landscapes in harsh light is so hard to do I concentrated on the leftovers people leave in the woods.
