Smooth, light and sharp stopped down. Decent bokeh, you might want to avoid busy backgrounds and lots of lights behind but overall a small jewel. Oh, and i like its colours too! I had a Pentax 50mm f/1.4 and all I can say is that it's been an amazing lens. Despite the fact that was manual focus, the image quality was absolutely superb. Sharp like a razor blade and the colors where extremely punchy. it worked without any problems on my Pentax K10D. Hi there.

I think the Yashica is a bit hard to focus, but it can be good when you get it right. How does it compare to the Yashica 35mm? I had one of those many years ago and found it to be a very sharp lens, whereas the Pentax looks to me to be a more soft and dreamy effect.
