Stuck on flowers

This time of year the flower is a motif easy to get stuck on. There are so many, so nice with bokeh. We miss them during the winter in Sweden. Then comes the autumn and a lot of images show autumn leafs ;) Well, here are some more flowers I portraied in the City park in Örebro. They are made with Helios 44-3 and S-M-C Takumar 55mm/1.8 lenses and Canon EOS 350D (and a M42->EOS adapter of course). Guess which is which?

Roses after repair of Helios 44-3

The focusring on my Helios 44-3 was loose, but is now repaired. Richard told me how to fix the problem, there are screws in the side of the ring but they are so small that I had missed them! Tightened and I took the lens to town with me… to the city park which is full with roses. Here are the result. I feel a bit new to the lens now since I haven’t used it in a while.

Water avens in may (digging through the archive)

Water avens (Geum rivale) is a beautiful flower. Sadly I can’t remember which lens I used here, but I think the Yashinon-DX 50mm/1.7 is a very lightly candidate. It’s nice to digg through the archive sometimes, you find some wonderful pieces forgotten.

Another Aquilegia vulgaris

These beautiful flowers Aquilegia vulgaris grow in a place near my home (yes, I live in a nice place). They come in different shades of blue to white. In swedish they are called Akleja, according to Wikipedia en english name is European Columbine. The image is made with my lens Asahi Super-Takumar 28mm/3.5, an M42 lens attached to my Canon EOS 350D. I also used an M42 extensionring from Chinon. I kind of like the result.

Sweden is in bloom

This time of year Sweden is a beautiful place (well it can be all year around of course). Near midsummers eve the landscape blooms and flowers of many kinds prosper. In july many people have vacation, but I will look for work and fight to survive for a couple of months I guess. I can still admire the beauty of nature.

The images was created with Yashinon-DX 50mm/1.7 on Canon EOS 350D.

Some summer closeups from a field

Yesterday I was on a trip to the national park nearby and took images of some plants and flowers. The day before had bad weather and rain, so drops still clinged to the leafs. The photos was created with manual m42-lenses of different brands.

More and more of this blue little things

As i said, a lot of theses right now. I think it is a challenge to crawl on the ground and try to get a good angle with my hendheld EOS 350D, an extension/macroring and a manual lens. Great fun! ;)

Sometimes we are just stuck on repeat (Anemone hepatica)

Some time of year I just can’t stay away from certain motifs. Leafs in the autumn. Summer morning light. Flowers in the spring. Flowing water. Fog. Some obsessions ;) Well, here’s a flower – hope you don’t get tired. I guess after the winter here it’s so good to see the nature awaken.

Hepatica nobilis with Super-Takumar 28mm/3.5 and macroring

This is the time of springflowers in Sweden. Anemone hepatica (“blåsippa”) and Anemone nemorosa (“vitsippa”) is two common ones that covers the ground here. I discovered that the Super-Takumar 28mm/3.5 with different lengths of macrorings/extenders makes for a good tool shooting pictures of flora. Wideangle close to the flowers gives an interesting field of view to play with. This was made in the spring, and I have more coming…

Miracles from the fleemarket – Pentacon tulip

This Pentacon 50/1.8 lens my wife brought home from the fleemarket is growing on me. It cost very little together with the Praktica-camera, and was a bit smashed in the filterthreads (I fixed this brutally by forcing a broken filters ring on the front on the lens = new filterthreads). Maybe you saw the bokeh-shots? Well, here’s a tulip I shot at my wifes exhibition.
