Yashinon DX 50mm f1.7 – interesting bokeh

Maybe not the best saturation (it was a gray day, though), but sharp and very interesting bokeh. Here at f2, if I remember it correct. Today my C/Y->EOS adapter arrived, so now I can try my ML-lenses and compare. I see a test of 50mm-lenses in the not to distant future :)

    Hello Mattias !

Really nice pictures ! I will most likely get one of thoose adapters also for my Canon EOS 40D and 450D and try to take some pictures to :-)

Another thing… I took an extra close look at my Yashinon DX 50mm lens yesterday… and if I now can see correctly… my lens is a 50mm 1.4 !! Not 1.7 as I said the other day. Can this really be correct ??

If that is the case… this lens is faster than I tought :-)

    Regards, Thomas

It was nice, this older Yashinons are M42 mount, my new ML ones are Contax/Yashica mount. Feels nice, but I think it might be radioactive (some of these old lenses are).

Wow – I think you got something really good there. Sure it’s 50mm and not 55mm? It could be made by Tomioka. If it is, your’e one lucky man!

    Hello again !

YES, it is a 50mm lens… and in that case I´l guess youre right… I am a lucky man ;-)

By the way… I have put up som new pictures of the new cameras on my site now… and there you can se the Yashica with the lens.

I have also started to make some bids at Tradera… and I hope to win some of the auctions… so I will be back :-)

    Regards, Thomas
