A little package

Springtime. Inspiration sets in. And for a little extra boost of inspiration – some “new” (or very old ;) ) lenses. I bought two lenses from Daniel, the old preset Asahi Takumar 135mm/3.5 in mint condition and a preset Asahi Takumar 105mm/2.8. He even sent a long an extra Pentax-camera.

At the moment I can’t test the lenses very much since I have a work deadline today and a bad caugh that wants me to stay inside :( But I wanted to show you the beauty 135mm:

Very nice. I recently grabbed a Super-Tak 50/1.4, but it’s the mirror way too easy on the 5D. Beautiful lens, but I’ll be replacing it with an OM 50/1.4. Been using a few different 35mm f/2.8s too… looking for a something in the 100-135mm range for landscape work, that 135/3.5 would probably be a pleasure to use…

Wow, what a beauty. I would not have thought is was possible to find a preset Takumar in that good a condition. Where did he keep it, hermetically sealed in a jar on a shelf?

Lately if find myself more curious about these really old preset Asahi Takumar lenses to the point of wanting to pick up one or two just try them out. Odds of finding one in mint condition is probably dam slim but maybe one that at least has good glass and is functional would be possible. I have a modest collection of Super-Takumars that I like to use on my K10D and an odd preset would be something a little different.

Hello! I was just wondering what lens you would recommend for a canon 500D and where to get it cheap? I’m not well versed in vintage lenses and its really just for me to start off :)
