Yesterday I bicycled round lake Tysslingen and made this image of whooper swans with Super-Takumar 135mm/3.5 M42-lens on Canon EOS 350D. The swans here are an attraction for wildlifephotographers every year, and they were lined up at the fence with their big tele AF-lenses… all getting the same image I guess, of the same birds and with the same weird look on their faces when they looked upon my little Takumar ;)

Very good shot -dont worry the AF crowd do it to me too- firng away with their 500mm Canon lenses like machine guns, and I bet they dont a shot like this!!
Hah, yep, I can imagine their reactions. The Super-Tak 135mm is tiny, like a little grenade. I use it for (a compact but good quality) 2.7 magnification macro shots when reversed Pentax-M 50mm f/1.8. I guess I should take it out for its ‘proper’ use one day…
Nice composition, by the way. I like.
Love the shot, froze them nicely. I have the 135/3.5 but mine is the SMC version. I pull it out every now and then. I tend to defer to my 135/2.5 Super-Tak more often. It’s a little fatter then the 3.5, maybe that will impress them?
Thanks everybody :)
